Seville (EFE).- The artist from Jerez Lola Flores and the singer from Almería David Bisbal will be distinguished on February 28 with the titles of Favorite Children of Andalusia, on the occasion of Community Day.
The president of the Board, Juanma Moreno, has announced on Twitter the distinction for “an incomparable artist” like Lola Flores, who died in 1995, and has highlighted that “her land admires her and gives her this recognition when she would be 100 years old.”
Regarding Bisbal, he highlighted that he is celebrating twenty years of his career and has more than eighty national and international awards in music: “My congratulations and gratitude for transmitting his passion for Andalusia wherever he goes.”
Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz)
Born in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) in 1923 and died in 1995, Lola Flores was one of the most representative and popular Spanish artists of 20th century Spain.
She sang and danced with her own style and as an actress she took part in almost forty films, many of them with an Andalusian folk scene. She married “El Pescaílla” and was the mother of three artist children, Lolita, Antonio Flores and Rosario.
Almeria
Born in Almería in 1979, David Bisbal Ferre maintained an artistic vocation from a very young age that led him to become very popular from the year 2000 after being a finalist in the first edition of the television contest “Operación Triunfo”, when he was 22 years old.
Bisbal has achieved great success both in Spain and in Latin American countries, has sold several million records and collaborates in philanthropic causes.
