Valladolid, (EFE).- Castilla y León was the only community with an export drop in 2022, with sales of 14,812.6 million, 0.2 percent less than in 2021, in a decline linked to the automotive sector , which plummeted 27.9 percent.
In the national group, exports rose 22.9 percent in 2022, up to 389,208.9 million euros.

According to the foreign trade report published this Thursday by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism and collected by EFE, Castilla y León imported 13,896.4 million in 2022, 33.4 percent more than a year earlier.
Despite the export drop: surplus of 916 million
This left the external balance of the Community, this is what is exported minus what is imported, positive at the end of the year, with a surplus of 916.3 million, almost five times less than the 4,430.5 million surplus of the 2021.
In the national group, the increase in energy imports, both in volume and price, raised the Spanish trade deficit to 68,112.2 million euros in 2022.
This represents more than double that of a year before (26,177.9 million), according to data published this Thursday by the Ministry of Industry.

By autonomous community, the community that experienced the highest year-on-year variation rate of its exports in the period was Canarias (71.3%), followed by the Community of Madrid (48.2%) and Illes Balears (45.3%) .
And on the contrary, exports only fell in Castilla y León by 0.2% year-on-year, according to the bulletin.
The automotive sector added 27.2% of exports in 2022
By sectors, the automobile was one more year the one that led exports in Castilla y León, with 4,024.6 million, 27.2 percent of the total that the Community sold outside that year but 27.9 percent less than in 2021.
The second most exporting sector was Food, beverages and tobacco, with 2,885.5 million, 19.5 percent of the regional total and 12.2 percent more than the previous year.
And the third non-chemical semi-manufactures, with 2,641.8 million, 17.8 percent of the total and a 47.8 percent annual increase.
Only Valladolid and Palencia closed negative exports, linked to the automotive industry
As for the provincial data, only Valladolid and Palencia closed their 2022 exports in negative, linked to the drop in automotive sales.
Exports fell 11.2 percent in Valladolid, which was the province that sold the most abroad last year, with 4,836.6 million, 1.2 percent of the 3.8 percent represented by exports from Castilla y León in the national total.
In Palencia, with exports of 1,892.3 million, the fall was 15.8 percent.
Burgos was the second most exporting province in 2022 in the Community, with 3,570.3 million, 3.4 percent more than in 2021.
León also exported over a billion, with 1,653.6, with an interannual growth of 19.8 percent; and Salamanca, with 1,134.5 million, and a rise of 24.3 percent.
Ávila exported in 2022 for 162.8 million, almost double (+96.3%) than a year before; with 664 million in the case of Segovia (+12.6%); 573.3 Soria (+28.7), and 325.3 Zamora (+13.5%).EFE
