Open to any artist who has at least one original song and aimed at professional or amateur singers, whoever wants to participate just has to send a video in any format of that song.
As one of the organizers of this festival, Carolina Palencia, explained to EFE, Cantabrisión has received, one week after its launch, a dozen applications, some of them “of high quality”, so they expect a great reception when the festival ends. submission period, March 1st.
Palencia affirms that they took the example of the Benidorm Fest, the festival in which the candidate representing Spain in Eurovision has been chosen since 2022, for the design of a Cantabrian format that shows “the great talent” that there is in Cantabria.
“It was a small revolution,” says the organizer, who is part of the jury of professionals from different media who will choose, among all the candidates, six applicants to attend the “great gala” in Cantabrisión, on the 1st of April.

Will there be a jury of experts?
The chosen scenario will be LaNaveQueLate, in Santander, will be hosted by the presenter Russell Simoni and the organization expects a “massive attendance” of the public, who will choose the winner of the contest live through a telephone application in which they will choose their two Favourite artists.
“Here there will be no mysterious jury of experts, in fact, what we are looking for is that the more people get involved in the voting, the better,” the organization points out.
The Cantabrisión gala will have a festival format, in which the six chosen artists will have thirty minutes to give a “micro concert” before that vote.
“People want to see music, to see the talent that there is in Cantabria,” says Palencia, who appreciates that the event “will help artists to make themselves known” and the Cantabrians to know “a little more about culture” regional.
The prize provided for the winner is a place to play at the next Verduleras Fest, to be held in May, and for now, a cash prize of 300 euros, although the organization is actively looking for sponsors to raise that amount.
Although “many artists are going to be left out”, the organization promises to “work to give them visibility” through social networks or in the framework of other events they organize.
To participate in the contest, artists can send a video of an original song by the soloist or band to [email protected] before March 1.
