València (EFE).- Dozens of women integrated into the Abolitionist Front of the Valencià Country have gathered this Thursday in the vicinity of Les Corts to demand that the parties that govern the Generalitat comply with the proposal on the abolition of prostitution approved by the Autonomous Parliament in October 2021.
In a manifesto, this group of women has demanded that the Botànic parties “stop looking the other way and implement the measures to which they committed themselves”, because “the rights of women, the physical and mental health of prostitutes cannot be the last thing in a democratic society».
Fed up with “broken promises”
In this sense, they express their “fed up” that “the supposedly progressive parties fail to comply with their programs and put themselves at the service of the pimps’ businesses, thus legitimizing sexual violence.”
“We demand that the single reading be included in the agenda and that the modifications to the Entertainment and Highway laws proposed by the Department of Justice be approved, which at the last minute and hastily presented the socialist parliamentary group,” they point out in the manifest.
All of this so that “the pimps cannot continue advertising and attracting vulnerable women with the impunity they now have, that the whoremongers cannot, for a fee, rape the slaves of the mafias on the roads with impunity. These are necessary steps, although insufficient.
In statements to EFE, one of the spokespersons for the Abolitionist Front, Puri Lietor, has highlighted the work in this regard of the Ministry of Justice, and has insisted on the need for the rest of the Government to “accept the legislative development to which it committed » in the aforementioned NLP.
«We are willing to continue with the concentrations and to mobilize again on February 22 or 23, because the laws for the development of abolitionism have to be approved. We are not willing to be fooled by the members of the Botànic », he concluded.
