Santander, Feb 7 (EFEAGRO).- The national deputy of the PRC, José María Mazón, will question the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, on the criteria of the Government of Spain in the management of the elimination of slurry. .
As the PRC points out in a press release, the challenge is made after the European Union plans to include in the Industrial Emissions Directive all those cattle, pig and poultry farms that are above 150 head of cattle, which which would mean an increase in the environmental demands on this type of livestock and could endanger small and medium-sized farms.
Mazón, who will speak in the plenary session starting at 10:20 a.m., recalled the importance of the primary sector in Cantabria and highlighted the environmental work carried out by extensive livestock farming that does not depend on the number of head of cattle.
