Quito (EFE).- The tendency for “No” predominated this Monday in the slow progress of the scrutiny of the referendum proposed by Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso, who sought to reform the Constitution in matters of security, democracy, institutions and the environment.
With 46.71% of the records processed, the “No” is ahead with 53.8% compared to 46.15% of the “Yes” in the first question with which Lasso sought support to facilitate the extradition of Ecuadorians for having committed crimes related to transnational organized crime.
With 37.2% scrutinized, the “No” has 58.78% compared to “Yes” with 41.22% in the second question that sought to give autonomy to the Prosecutor’s Office, while with 27% accounted for, the ” No” has 56% and “Yes” 43.7% in question 3, which raised the reduction in the number of assembly members.
Question 4, related to requiring that political movements have a minimum number of affiliates equivalent to 1.5% of the electoral register of their jurisdiction, carries a scrutiny of 22.2% with 57.5% for “No” and 42.4% for “Yes”.
With 17.22% accounted for, the “No” has 60% and the “Yes” 39.9% in question 5, which sought to remove the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (Cpccs) the power to designate authorities, such as the comptroller
In question 6, which sought the modification in the election of the members of the Cpccs, the “No” has 60.21% and the “Yes” 39.79% with 11.16% counted.
With 5.58% accounted for, the “No” accumulates 58.34% and the “Yes”, 41.66% in question 7 with which Lasso sought to incorporate a water protection subsystem into the National System of Protected Areas .
With the most backward count, with only 4.26% of the records processed, the “No” has 59.46% and the “Yes” 40.54% in question 8, which intended that people, communities, peoples and nationalities, may be beneficiaries of compensation duly regularized by the State, for their support for the generation of environmental services.
