Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (EFE) , and has ironized that, contrary to what “the right” predicted, it does not seem that “the apocalypse” has arrived.
This is how President Sánchez expressed himself at a PSOE rally in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to present the candidacy of the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, for mayor of the city.
Instead of the apocalypse, the President of the Government has continued, what has arrived is a growth of 5.5% of the GDP, “more and better employment, the lowest inflation in the eurozone and 1,500 euros more per year for the retirees”.
“There are differences between whether the PSOE or the PP govern. In the previous financial crisis, the PP used public resources to rescue bankrupt banks and freeze pensions. But we tell the banks that they are going to pay more taxes and at the same time we raise the pensions”, stated the President of the Government.
Thus, the PSOE general secretary also recalled that his government will return to nourish the pension piggy bank for the first time in 13 years, with a contribution of almost 3,000 million euros.
Although he has admitted the problems that young people face, especially with regard to employability and emancipation, Sánchez has claimed an increase of more than 2,000 million euros in scholarship funds, updating the Vocational Training system, that he has considered “key” for the working class, or the implementation of the youth rental bonus.
Along these lines, he added that they have “dignified” people’s salaries, pensions and has indicated that, in general, they have opted to “defend the welfare state and protect the social majority”, also in the face of the adversities generated by the Ukrainian war, he added.
“We are focused on protecting the social majority of the country from the adverse effects of the war. The alternative is that of a government that protects a majority of the powerful and that exercises the policy of ‘every man for himself’ as they did in the previous crisis”, insisted Sánchez, who has asserted that if anyone picks up a 2013 newspaper they will be able to verify that there were 6 million unemployed, unemployment of 26% and 57% youth unemployment.
Sánchez stressed that the Rajoy government also approved a “labor counter-reform” without an agreement that, in his opinion, “reduced rights, accelerated the destruction of jobs, devalued wages and made workers’ working conditions more precarious.”
He has also criticized the pension reform and the detachment of the CPI, with a rise of 0.25% in any context, therefore, with the war in Ukraine “it would only have risen 2.39 euros” compared to 107 euros in average that rose this year.
Pedro Sánchez has also defended Spain’s leadership in Brussels, especially in the negotiation of European funds and the cap on gas.
“Today in Brussels battles are taking place for the benefit of Spain that were not taking place before,” said Sánchez, who said that he sees it “understandable” that large corporations try to prevent the measures that cut their profits from going ahead but has considered it incomprehensible let it be the right that defends the particular interests of large companies.
Regarding immigration, Sánchez has defended the decrease in migratory flows, which in the Canary Islands has been reduced by about 30%.
“It was not evident that the migratory flow was going to stop. We did it because there was coordination between the different city councils and State administrations”, pointed out the president, who has opined that “always” the migrant has always been placed at the center of policies, with the implementation of reception infrastructures, At the same time, he has defended the commitment to fight against trafficking and mafias.
