Ferrol (EFE).- Yoli Rodríguez (Ferrol, 1997) has been since childhood one of the figures with the greatest projection of the rich youth of Ferrol surfing and sport whetted her appetite for fashion, something that has not been accidental.
She is immersed in the process of launching Nanä, her own children’s clothing firm, which also initially had small women’s and home collections and, she affirms in a chat with EFE, that her “profession for many years” facilitated a contact closely with textiles «from a very young age».
«I was next to brands that sponsored me; I took photos as a model and collaborated and I liked it, that’s where it all started a bit,” he says, but he also assures that he “loved children and clothes” for that audience, so the ingredients were gathered to cook his most desired dish.
She always wanted to have her own label in the children’s market, but being a mother “woke me up much more” to achieve that goal and she already faced the race with “a little experience”, so she did not hesitate.
Rodríguez speaks of “a slightly different brand” in which embroidery and the use of sustainable fabrics stand out in a kind of love story with what is known as slow fashion.
What’s more, he cries out to “all the consumerism” that prevails in society and proposes a firm “a little more expensive, but that we give value to those garments”, initially disseminated through Instagram while finalizing his web portal.
The distribution of Nanä will be channeled through the network, but its promoter also intends to “make different events mixing the brand with art” to promote synergies with other areas related to fashion.
Yoli Rodríguez wanted local production and got a team of dressmakers, “unfortunately today there aren’t many, it was hard for me to find them”, and she stocks up on fabrics such as linen or knitwear from various suppliers.
His weakness is linen, as well as bonnets or headbands when talking about specific items or military green if asked about a color, for a company whose name is “one of the first words said” by his daughter.
The project is underway “in honor of her” and is based “on what used to be”, from long skirts to linen blouses, a “different dress” with a “rural modern” aroma that is guided “by my taste”. more than trends.
The entrepreneur from Ferrol reveals that the home line will be a priority as it is “all very handmade, it is what I want to value”, a segment in which individual tablecloths for the children themselves or for any kitchen table can already be seen.
And all “from Ferrol”, his city, because with “work and searching well you can find and do” what you want, also a sustainable fashion: “People are already more aware of sustainability, but there is a long way to go”.
In a world full of visual impacts, Yoli Rodríguez clings to “eye-catching campaigns” as there are “many brands”, a reality for which, she concludes, “if you want something to stand out, the best thing is a good image”.
