Granada, Mar 25 (EFE).- Covirán Granada achieved its third consecutive victory at home, which allows it to take another step towards permanence in the Endesa League, by beating this Saturday at the Palacio de los Deportes 88-67 against a very erratic and unknown due to its poor performance UCAM Murcia, which has linked four consecutive defeats at home in the domestic competition.
Covirán Granada came out much more plugged into the track and led the game (9-1, m.3) against a UCAM Murcia supported at the beginning by the Ukrainian Artem Pustovyi.
Between the end of the first quarter and the start of the second, the locals went 14-1 to shoot up the score (33-16, m.12), with the Senegalese Youssou Ndoye -18 points at halftime- doing a lot of damage to the team of a desperate Sito Alonso.
UCAM Murcia grabbed the American Thad McFadden to react slightly after the locals reached their maximum income (38-20, m.15), but their inferior rebounding and their defensive problems meant that they reached the break with a clear disadvantage ( 49-33).
The second half began with Sito Alonso’s men much more focused and with a 3-13 run in less than three minutes, led by the American James Anderson, to change the decoration of the duel (53-46, m.23).
However, the visitors’ fieryness did not last long and the American Alex Renfroe appeared to stifle the Murcian comeback with his points and his direction of play (67-49, m.27) and for the clash to enter the final quarter very well on track for the locals (74-55).
The mistake of UCAM Murcia, erratic in the shots and with too many turnovers, made Granada’s income increase instead of decrease (81-56, m.34) and the final minutes were inconsequential in the middle of the local party.
