Valencia (EFE).- The Court of Instruction number 18 of Valencia has issued an order to open an oral trial against the former regional secretary of Education Máximo Caturla, prosecuted in the Imelsa case, for an alleged crime of seizure of property, which he would have committed after learning that he was being investigated.
The accusation, which is directed only by the Prosecutor’s Office, is for punishable insolvency and a bond of 15,000 euros is requested, which must be presented within 24 hours, as reflected in the aforementioned order, to which EFE has had access.
The prosecutor also considers his family and the company Estilo Kiki civilly responsible for profit, since they were supposedly recipients of the assets that Caturla wanted to hide.
The investigation has concluded that Caturla concentrated part of his assets in the aforementioned company between 2014 and 2015, and at the same time donated all of its shares to his children, apparently in order to avoid or lessen the possible seizure of the same.
Caturla is currently being tried in the framework of another of the separate pieces of the Imelsa case, for the alleged illegal hiring of personnel who did not come to work in the public companies of Ciegsa and Imelsa, facts for which he faces a possible conviction. 12 years in prison. EFE
