Madrid, Jul 12 (EFE).- The suffocating heat of these days, which is beginning to subside, will be concentrated today in the south and eastern strip of the country, including the archipelagos, and one more day the red alert will be activated for maximums of 44 degrees in Andalusia and the Murcia region, and in the Canary Islands due to temperatures of up to 40 degrees.
Likewise, this Wednesday the communities of the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha and the Valencian Community will be under warning for heat (orange, due to significant risk), according to the predictions of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) in its Web page.
Also with a yellow level due to heat, with a slightly lower risk than the previous one, are also Aragon, Catalonia and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla.
In the Andalusian province of Almería, specifically in the Almanzora valley and Los Vélez in Almería, up to 44 degrees will be reached.
In general, in Andalusia the threshold of 40 degrees will be exceeded in a good part of the community; the heat will be suffocating, up to 42 degrees in the Cordovan and Sevillian countryside and also in Guadix and Baza (Granada); punctually it may exceed 42 degrees in points of Sol and Guadalhorce (Málaga).
Likewise, 44 degrees will be registered in the region of Murcia, in the areas of the vega del Segura and in the Guadalentín valley as well as in Lorca and Águilas; These levels could also be exceeded locally in the Murcian highlands and in the northwest of the capital.
In the Canary archipelago, the alert is also red in Gran Canaria in the area of summits, where maximum temperatures of 40 degrees are expected, according to predictions.
The Balearic Islands will also activate the heat alert due to the forecast of maximum temperatures of 39 degrees in the south of Mallorca, and 38 degrees in the interior of the island.
The community of Castilla-La Mancha, in Albacete, specifically in Hellín and Almansa, will also be on orange alert due to highs of up to 42 degrees, and it will also be very hot, with 39 degrees, in La Mancha, Albacete, as well as in Ciudad Real and Cuenca, where the values will be high.
In the Valencian Community, 40 degrees will be reached in the interior of Alicante, which is at the orange risk level, and up to 38 degrees in Valencia.
The high temperatures will also hit today the entire community of Aragon, in the interior of Catalonia, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, which are at a yellow level, all of them, with maximum values of around 36 degrees.
