López Miras will predictably reissue a new failed investiture, since he has not resumed negotiations with Vox, a formation that sat down with the PP on a single occasion last week in which he requested to be part of the Government and electoral proposals were exchanged between the two matches.
If the nine Vox deputies abstained, the PP would be worth its 21 seats to invest López Miras, since in this second vote, unlike the first, it is not necessary to have an absolute majority.
Vox rules out the abstention requested by the PP
The provincial leader of Vox, José Ángel Antelo, has ruled out the abstention requested by the PP, since he will only vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’, and has justified his position in the 18% of the votes obtained and in the breach of the pact that PP and Vox reached in 2019, precisely for the investiture of López Miras in the last legislature.
It will be at 11 a.m. when the second vote begins with the intervention of the candidate for a maximum time of 10 minutes, which will be followed by that of the representatives of the parliamentary groups, of 5 minutes each, to establish their position. Next, the vote will take place.
If this second vote fails, a period of two months would be opened, counting from the first vote (on July 6), to try to reach an agreement that allows the investiture. If no candidate has obtained confidence, the president of the Regional Assembly will dissolve the chamber, calling for new elections.
