Madrid (EFE).- More than half of Spain continues this Monday on alert for suffocating temperatures due to the second heat wave of this summer, with special incidence in Andalusia, where there is a red warning (extreme risk) for values up to 44 degrees, reports the Meteorology Agency (Aemet) on its website.
Andalusia has activated the red alert in the provinces of Córdoba and Jaén, for values of up to 44 degrees in the Cordovan countryside, Morena, Condado, Cazorla, Segura and the Guadalquivir valley in Jaén; In Cádiz, Granada, Málaga and Seville there is an orange warning (important risk) for values between 41/43 degrees.
The Community of Madrid is in orange level in points of the metropolitan area, south, Henares, Las Vegas and the west due to maximums up to 40 degrees; Aemet warns that in areas of Aranjuez and surroundings it can reach 42 degrees locally.
All the provinces of Castilla-La Mancha, in orange, will reach values between 38 and 42 degrees, while in points of the Cuenca mountain range there is also a yellow warning (risk) for storms.
In Extremadura, the thermometers will oscillate between 39 and 40 degrees throughout the community, especially in the vegas del Guadiana, Siberia Extremadura, Barros, Serena, Tajo, Alagón, Villuercas and Montánchez.
In areas of the Mediterranean, the island of Mallorca (Balearic Islands) is in orange due to maximum temperatures between 36 and 38 degrees, occasionally it can reach 39 degrees; in the rest of the islands there is a yellow warning for values between 36-37 degrees.
In Aragon, Castilla y León, Catalonia, the Region of Murcia, Navarra, La Rioja and the Valencian Community, there is a yellow warning for highs that will range between 34-39 degrees.
The Aemet warns that with the red alert the risk is extreme with unusual meteorological phenomena of exceptional intensity and with a very high level of risk for the population, while with the orange level there is significant risk in unusual meteorological phenomena and for activities usual.
