Santander (EFE).- The Civil Guard has confirmed this Saturday the discovery in France of the body of the fisherman from Santoña who disappeared in Laredo last November when the small boat in which he was sailing with another person capsized.
The discovery of the body took place last December, although his identity has not been confirmed so far.
As reported to EFE by the Civil Guard, the body appeared on December 24, just over a month after the disappearance of the fisherman.
the boat capsized
This is Luis Fernández, who disappeared on the coast of Laredo, near the tunnel, in the early hours of Sunday, November 20, when he was fishing with another man and his boat capsized.
Due to the shallowness of the area where the boat was located, the two headed for the shore with water up to their waists, but the waves carried Luis Fernández away.
The other occupant of the boat was the one who warned and asked for help after going through the tunnel.
The emergency services unsuccessfully deployed a search device in which air and sea resources participated despite the poor state of the sea on the Cantabrian coast, then on orange alert due to adverse coastal phenomena. EFE
