Madrid (EFE).- The English midfielder Jude Bellingham, recently signed by Real Madrid, will wear the number ‘5’ in his new stage in the white team, leaving behind the ’22’ that has accompanied him in his professional career at the level of clubs, in Birmingham and Borussia Dortmund.
This number has been occupied by the German Antonio Rüdiger since last season and Real Madrid chose to give him the number ‘5’ and Jesús Vallejo to wear the number ’24’.
A number that he has not worn in his international matches with England either, where in his last call-up in March he wore the number ‘8’.
Bellingham posed with what will be his shirt for at least the next six seasons after signing with Real Madrid until 2029 and leaving Borussia Dortmund in exchange for 103 million euros plus 30% in variables.
The English midfielder signed his contract and unveiled his number after signing his new contract at the Real Madrid offices in the Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas together with the club’s president, Florentino Pérez, before his debut with a presentation and press conference.
In addition, early in the morning Bellingham satisfactorily completed the pertinent medical examination at the Sanitas La Moraleja clinic, where he was received by some fans who waited at the door to welcome him.
