Palma, May 17 (EFE).- Rafael Nadal will offer a press conference this Thursday at his academy in Manacor (Mallorca) to announce whether or not he will play the Roland Garros tournament, of which he is the current champion and has won fourteen times , and the reasons that justify his decision, as confirmed by the Spanish tennis player in a statement.
“Good afternoon. Tomorrow Rafa Nadal will hold a press conference at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar at 4:00 p.m. Whether or not she plays Roland Garros will be communicated then, as will the reasons why she decides one thing or the other. Thank you”, says the text of the note sent by the Spanish tennis player to the media.
The winner of 22 Grand Slam titles played his last official match last January in the second round of the Australia Tournament against the American Mackenzie McDonald (lost 6-4-6-4 and 7-5), a defeat that prevented him from revalidate his title of champion of the first Grand Slam of 2023.
Since then, an iliac psoas injury, from which he continues to recover, has prevented him from playing in the Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid and Rome tournaments this year.
