Madrid (EFE) this Tuesday.
The previous offer, of 46.7 million euros and other labor improvements, was not accepted last Wednesday by the majority of the associations, which agreed to postpone the strikes, at the request of the Government, to “expand the margin of negotiation” and “as a symbol of goodwill.”
The bulk of the seven associations considered it insufficient, with the Professional Association of the Magistracy (APM) -the majority among judges and the most conservative- at the head, which also qualifies it as “unassumable”, since it does not allow “even recovering the half of the purchasing power lost since 2003 and the wage cut of more than 10%” that they experienced in 2010.
On the opposite side, the progressive Judges and Judges for Democracy (JJpD) and the Progressive Union of Prosecutors (UPF), the only ones that have not joined the strike call at any time, are committed to accepting the proposal above. of the table, although they would welcome any improvements made to it.
Thus, the APM has chosen to suspend the strike, waiting to see how the dialogue progresses, and the rest of the organizing organizations have postponed its start to next Monday, the 22nd.
Not starting the strikes this Tuesday was the condition requested by the Secretary of State for Justice, Tontxu Rodríguez, to present a new offer after the 46.7 million offer, which in theory was already the final one.
According to the associations, the negotiation process is expected to conclude on Thursday with a new meeting in which the latest positions of judges and prosecutors must be established.
