Pamplona (EFE).- Unemployment has been reduced in Navarra in April by 1,106 people, 3.46%, compared to the previous month, which places the number of unemployed at 30,844.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the number of unemployed people decreased by 7.72%, with a total of 2,582 fewer unemployed, according to data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, which show a drop in unemployment in all autonomous communities.
At the national level, the number of people registered in the offices of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), at the end of April, has decreased by 73,890 people (-2.58%) in relation to the previous month and year-on-year unemployment has decreased by 234,133 people (-7.75%).
Of the total number of unemployed in Navarra, 20,992 correspond to the service sector (730 less than the previous month), 1,446 to agriculture (99 less), 3,730 to industry (203 less), 1,352 to construction (19 less) and 3,324 are people without previous employment (55 less.
Female unemployment falls
By sex, the number of unemployed decreased by -4.3% (539 fewer unemployed) and the number of unemployed fell by -2.9% (567 fewer unemployed in one month), but in annual terms, the variation in unemployment It is also less positive for women, since the number of unemployed decreased by -5.1% (1,001 fewer unemployed women), while the number of unemployed decreased by -11.6% (1,581 fewer unemployed).
In this way, the distribution of unemployment continues to be unbalanced, points out the Provincial Government, which adds that at the end of April, 60.9% of the people registered as unemployed are women (18,787) compared to 39.1% of men (12,057 ).
Regarding age, in younger people (less than 25 years), there is a decrease of -11.4% (349 fewer stops). The following decreases occurred in the rest of the intervals: in the 25 to 34-year-old bracket, -4.9% (282 less), in the 35-44-year-old interval, the drop in unemployment was -2, 3% (154 fewer), in those between 45 and 54 years of age -3.4% (-251) and in the case of people over 54 years of age, there has been a decrease of -0.8% (70 fewer people standing).
Unemployment of foreign people falls by 3.2%
Of the total number of unemployed people at the end of the month, 8.8% are under 25 years of age (2,709) and almost three out of every ten (28.8%, 8,885) are unemployed people over 54 years of age.
By nationality, the number of unemployed people with Spanish nationality fell by 877 compared to March (-3.5%) while the number of unemployed people with foreign nationality fell by -3.2% (229 less in a month).
Regarding the level of studies, unemployed people with a level of studies up to the first stage of secondary school decreased by 667 (-2.9%). Also noteworthy is the decrease in the number of unemployed people with baccalaureate studies (-8.1%, 166 fewer unemployed people), as well as the number of unemployed people with Higher Education Vocational Training studies (-4.9%, 102 fewer) and that of unemployed people with university studies (-4.1%, 111 less).
Almost 40% are long-term unemployed
With all this, those who have a level of studies up to the first stage of secondary school account for 71.8% of the total number of unemployed.
Regarding long-term unemployment, there was a slight monthly decrease in April (-0.4%), which meant 53 fewer long-term unemployed people in one month. In one year there was a decrease of 257 fewer long-term unemployed people, -2.1%.
Currently, of the total number of people registered as unemployed, 39.6%, that is, 12,224 people, are long-term unemployed (they have been unemployed for more than a year).
