CCOO and UGT have mobilized Castilla y León this May 1st with several thousand attendees, more than 8,000 according to the Government Delegation, in the 14 marches called throughout the Community to request salary increases and profit sharing.
In the Community there are 190,000 workers who continue with the salaries of 2021 despite the record benefits of many of the companies.
There has also been a union message about the ballast that in their opinion VOX represents in the Government and the regional economy, which they have invited to release.
Temprano and Andrés anticipate a “gale of mobilizations”
In Valladolid, with some 14,000 participants according to the conveners and 2,000 according to the Government delegation, the leaders of the UGT and CCOO in Castilla y León, Faustino Temprano and Vicente Andrés, have once again called on the employers to make an effort to increase wages or there will be “a galerna of mobilizations”.
In statements to the media before the start of the May Day demonstration in Valladolid in that capital, the CCOO leader in the Community, Vicente Andrés, recalled that there are 190,000 workers with 2021 salaries in Castilla y León, for not having updated the agreements, at a time of skyrocketing inflation.
With respect to the Community, in his opinion its economy is “hampered” by an “excess of aggressiveness and confrontation that exists in society. There is a problem of coexistence of the hard part of the government that is causing a reaction in the citizens that is leading businessmen not to invest and some are leaving ”from Castilla y León, he has maintained.
And “before the trial” and the “guinea pig” that the Community is being in his opinion with that PP-Vox government, he has asked Manueco to “drop the ballast” of the extreme right, if not possible before, then of the municipal ones of May.

“The workers are humble but important people, we have a day dedicated to work that invites everyone to share it. It does not matter to be active, to be a pensioner or to be an entrepreneur”, has raised the president of the CCOO manager in León, Ignacio Fernández, for whom this is the importance of the world of work, “which is not trading upwards at the moment but which we have to push for it to occupy a central role”.
In Burgos, three of the pending agreements in sectors with greater benefits

Some 1,400 people have attended the demonstration on May 1 in Salamanca, which has run between Gran Vía and Plaza Mayor. With the motto “Raise wages, lower prices, distribute benefits”, the convening unions, UGT and CCOO, have denounced that workers are carrying the weight of inflation alone, especially in food.

In Palencia some 1,200 people, according to the Local Police, have demonstrated this May Day to demand decent wages and progress in collective bargaining.
“We ask businessmen to stop passing on price increases this year to maintain profit margins and distribute it among the working class,” its provincial leader Elena Villamediana has demanded from the CCOO.
His UGT counterpart in Palencia, Gorka López, has criticized “the politics of the extreme right in the Government of the Junta with the convenience of the Popular Party that is attacking democracy, institutions and the citizenry as a whole.”
Segovia, with the focus on the building cleaning strike
In Segovia, approximately half a thousand people have marched from the headquarters of the CCOO and UGT unions, on Avenida del Acueducto, to the Plaza Mayor, while chanting and shouting, some of them directed against the regional president, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, or on the absence of the PP candidate for Mayor of Segovia, José Mazarías.
Nearly 250 people have followed the union rally in the capital of Avila on a “festive and demanding May 1 and that people also celebrate it” who have gone to the city of Punte, Javier García, general secretary of UGT Ávila, has raised.
His counterpart at CCOO, Óscar García, has stressed that the labor market in Avila depends on temporary employment and the service sector; and, therefore, is subject to a precarious situation; although both unionists have influenced the increases in pensions or SMI, which are among the lowest in the Community and in the country.
The TCAE are counted on May 1 in Soria
Some 450 people have mobilized in Soria on the first of May, in a concentration that has included the Government delegate in Castilla y León, Virginia Barcones, and the councilor from Soria, Carlos Martínez, in a province in which the collective agreements pending affect some 15,000 workers.
At the same time, some 70 auxiliary nursing care technicians, the TCAE, have demonstrated in the capital of Soria, so that they are not included in the new category of TADE, which would be equated to that of social health technician, and that they have made a corridor for the participants in the May Day demonstration with shouts of “traitors and you do not represent us”.
Half a thousand people have demonstrated in Zamora on this May Day that, together with the general banner of “Raise wages, lower prices, distribute benefits”, has had those of “Against the forestry policy of the Junta de Castilla y León” or “For the attention to dependency and the dignity of home help work”.
