Logroño, (EFE).- The president of the La Rioja Government, the socialist Concha Andreu, has asked this Monday the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the general secretary of the party, Cuca Gamarra, that “they do not do populism or confuse citizenship” with the new State Housing Law, since, he has said, that it is not a law proposed for the “squatters”.
Andreu, also general secretary of the PSOE of La Rioja and candidate to revalidate the Presidency of the La Rioja Government in the elections on May 28, made these statements at an event organized by the party in Logroño to inform about socialist housing policies.
He added that “unfortunately, Guca Gamarra and Feijóo use populism and do not tell the truth”, since “the issue of the occupation is absolutely regulated”.
The socialist leader has valued the management of the Government of Spain with respect to SAREB, previously “called a bad bank”, so that “all its assets -in housing- have movement and the houses do not remain empty”.
On the PP’s criticism that this new Housing Law has needed the support of ERC and EH Bildu for its approval,
Andreu has said that, for her, the important thing is that “the laws come out with the support that they have to come out; the laws are absolutely transparent and with all the legal guarantees”.
He has considered that the Housing Law, which he has defined as the state norm of the “right to housing”, is “good for the social majority” and has expressed his “pride” that the Government of Spain makes available to the market ” so much empty housing, with an established norm and prices with all the guarantees”.
He has also said that the Government of La Rioja has already purchased homes from the SAREB and that it will wait to know the figure that corresponds to the 20,000 that correspond to the autonomous communities, although its Executive has already begun this legislature to create a social park of affordable housing, especially for youth.
