Politics after 9 medals
Nicholls touched politics for the first time after his retirement in March 2022 from professional basketball after winning three European titles with the Spanish team, an Olympic silver, and a World Cup.
At 34 years old, this woman from Santander will be on the list of the PRC candidate for Mayor of Santander, Felipe Piña.
And he will do so with a career that includes 9 medals in 197 matches with the national team (three European golds, one Olympic and one world silver, two world bronzes and two European bronzes).
Nicholls has gone through Spanish clubs such as Rivas Ecópolis, Perfumerías Avenida, Casademont Zaragoza, Celta, Irún or Siglo XXI; the Polish Wisla Krakow or the Turkish Fenerbahce.
In Racing and the City Hall?
Gonzalo Colsa was already seen at the presentation of Piña as a candidate for Mayor of Santander, since they are friends.
The former soccer player enters an electoral list for the first time, something that he will share with his position as head of the Real Racing Club de Santander youth academy, in which he was a member and which he directed together with his friend and teammate, Pedro Munitis.
Colsa, born in the Cantabrian municipality of Ramales de la Victoria but resident in Santander for years, was one of the most recognized footballers between 1997 and 2010.
Gonzalo Colsa played for Racing Santander, Atlético de Madrid, Valladolid, Mallorca, Logroñés and Mirandés, where he finished his professional career in the 2012-2013 season.
The entry Laura Nicholls and Gonzalo Colsa in politics with the PRC was first published in EFE Noticias.
