Madrid (EFE).- Pablo Ruiz Picasso died 50 years ago and the world pays tribute this Saturday to the one who was one of the great geniuses who revolutionized the history of art with events and exhibitions that celebrate his work and his artistic heritage and those who In Spain, those organized in Malaga and A Coruña stand out.
European and Latin American countries and the United States have joined the celebrations organized for this anniversary.
In Spain, in addition to Malaga, his hometown; A Coruña, where he moved at the age of 9; Barcelona and Madrid, where he studied and lived, numerous towns host events this Saturday, some of them framed in the Picasso Year program, for which the governments of Spain and France set up a binational commission, among which are the following :
Málaga
The Museo Casa Natal Picasso has prepared an open day at the artist’s childhood home and at the exhibition hall in Plaza de la Merced. Also as a tribute to the painter, the Picassian Bullfight is celebrated and the right-handed

A Coruña
The Museum of Fine Arts in A Coruña is hosting the exhibition “Picasso white no recordo azul”, which shows how he began to paint in this Galician city that was a setting for “first times” for the artist: he saw his first nude, began his social commitment and his interest in geometry -precursor of cubism-.

The Picasso Museum-Eugenio Arias Collection in the Madrid town of Buitrago del Lozoya has scheduled a marathon of activities for all audiences this Saturday, with free puppet, circus, dance and music shows.
The Buitrago del Lozoya Museum houses the collection of works and objects that Picasso gave to Eugenio Arias, when they both lived in Vallauris, a small town in the south of France. He was a friend and confidante of the artist, who gave him works and after his death they met in the first museum created by the Community of Madrid on March 5, 1985. The Community has announced that it will recover a historic building in the town to house the new Museum Picasso of the municipality.
Bilbao
The Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao joins the commemorations with an exhibition of 45 sculptures made by Picasso in different periods, the first exhibition to be held in Spain focused exclusively on his sculptural work, with iconic works such as “The offering lady”, the ” Homage to Apollinaire”, “The pregnant woman” or the “Portrait of Dora Maar”.
Murcia
In Murcia, the Las Claras Cultural Center, headquarters of the Cajamurcia Foundation, has exhibited a set of engravings that reproduce Picasso’s “aesthetic concerns, enthusiasm for love and habitual states of mind”.
Likewise, in the Casa Pintada de Mula, headquarters of the Cristóbal Gabarrón Foundation, “Picasso-Cela. Parallel lives, shared values”, a collection of letters, documents and photographs that illustrate the friendship between the two geniuses of painting and literature.
