Valencia, (EFE).- Agreement in the ERE of Ford. Ford Spain and UGT have reached an agreement for the conditions of the 1,144 affected by the employment regulation file of the Almussafes plant and the Madrid offices, which offers voluntary exit plans for employees born in 1969 and 1970 and improves the amounts for incentivized casualties, according to union sources.
On March 10, negotiations began for the new ERE planned for 1,144 employees (960 from the vehicle plant and 140 from engines, and another 20 from offices, in Almussafes, and 14 from the central offices in Madrid, dedicated to marketing and sales and distribution), which represents 20% of a workforce of 5,800 workers.
The cessation of production of the S-Max and Galaxy models scheduled by the multinational from this April 1 is the reason for the departures of the employees since the plant is left with only two, Kuga and Transit, waiting for the concretion of new electric vehicles within Ford’s strategy towards full electrification by 2035.
First reactions to the agreement in Ford’s ERE
The management of Ford Spain has valued the agreement reached, while the UGT, the only union that signed the agreement, has affirmed that the company “has agreed” to its main claim and has offered voluntary exit plans for those born in 1969 and 1970 ( 53 and 54 years old) and has “significantly” improved the amounts offered for incentivized leave.
This union, the majority at the Almussafes plant, where the STM is also represented -which for the moment has not given an opinion on the agreement-, assures that with this agreement they conclude some complicated negotiations both due to the volume of personnel affected and the stock exchanges. existing age, and he says he trusts that the agreement will serve to solve the problem that an ERE like this entails, with 100% voluntary participation.
In his opinion, it has been “key” to have the Agreement for Electrification reached by UGT with the European management of Ford, since it guarantees the continuity of the factory and allows “to be able to demand” from the local and European management the commitment it has with the Almussafes staff, in the sense of lowering the age of participation in the plan and setting decent conditions for leaving, according to a statement to the workers.
The details of the agreement
The final agreement proposal contains a compensatory economic indemnity plan for which all employees of Ford Spain in Valencia born since January 1, 1960 are eligible, except those linked by a temporary, relief or access to retirement contract. partial.
