Mérida (EFE).- The PP and Vox teams have begun to negotiate the formation of the new Government of Extremadura, as reported this Friday by the candidate of the second of these formations, Ángel Pelayo.
“We have started conversations to build an alternative that bends the policies of the left in Extremadura”, Pelayo revealed on his social networks, in which he has indicated: “outstretched hand, good sense and respect for our voters”.
This meeting takes place after the Vox spokesman in Congress, Iván Espinosa, declared last Wednesday that the PP had not shown up to that moment “desire” to negotiate with his party the formation of regional and local governments.
To which the leader of the PP of Extremadura, María Guardiola, replied, who called on Vox to negotiate “whenever and wherever it wants”.
The PSOE won the regional elections in Extremadura with 28 seats, the same as the PP, and the right-wing bloc would reach an absolute majority with the five Vox deputies.
The Socialists, with the four parliamentarians from United for Extremadura, would not reach the 33 deputies necessary for an absolute majority.
Vara asks that the priority be Extremadura
The acting President of the Government of Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, has urged the political forces with representation in the Assembly to have Extremadura as the “sole priority” on the path to the formation of the new regional Executive.
“No one has a majority to be able to govern”, “therefore, majorities must be formed through agreements”, he added.
He has advocated resolving “as soon as possible” the formation of the future regional Executive to prevent said process from coinciding with the general elections of 23J.
The constitutive session of the regional Parliament will take place on June 20 with the election of the Board of the Assembly, which will have special relevance based on the electoral results.
The Board of the Assembly once again has six members
The Board will again have six members, unless there is a new modification, when the temporary regulatory reform of 2019 expires, which increased its number to eight so that United by Extremadura could be represented.
Therefore, in the constitutive session the president, two vice-presidents and two secretaries will be elected.
Before the start of the same, each political force may present a candidate for the presidency of the Table. If in the vote none of those proposed has an absolute majority, there would be a second one and the one who obtains a simple majority will be elected.
If a tie persists, the candidate from the list with the most votes in the elections is considered elected, in this case the PSOE.
In the hands of the president of the Chamber is to propose the candidate for the Presidency of the Board, after consulting the spokespersons of the parliamentary groups, within a period of fifteen days from the constitution of Parliament.
Once the candidate to preside over the regional government is proposed, another term will open, also of fifteen days, to attend the possible investiture. EFE
