Vigo, June 9 (EFE).- The Portuguese Carlos Carvalhal will not continue as coach of Celta de Vigo in the 2023-24 season despite the fact that he still had a year left on his contract with the entity chaired by Carlos Mouriño.
The club leaders have already transferred their decision to the Portuguese coach, so Carvalhal will become the seventh coach to be dismissed by Celta since the Argentine Eduardo “Toto” Berizzo did not renew his contract in 2017.
Carvalhal, a personal bet of sports advisor Luis Campos, arrived in Balaídos last November to replace the Argentine Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet with the challenge of keeping the team in the First Division, a goal he achieved on the last day of the League after defeat FC Barcelona 2-1.
