Ciudad Real (EFE).- The skeletal remains found in a well in Manzanares (Ciudad Real) are from the businessman from Vitoria who disappeared in that town in June 2019.
The Government sub-delegate in Ciudad Real, María de los Ángeles Herreros, has reported that the DNA tests carried out on the skeletal remains -possibly a humerus- confirm that it is Jesús María González Borrajo.
The 57-year-old businessman had traveled to Manzanares from Vitoria to sell two luxury vehicles.
Herreros, who has conveyed his condolences to the businessman’s family, has indicated that “after so much waiting time and uncertainty” the Civil Guard has located the remains thanks to “very meticulous work.”
Thus, he has pointed out that “it has not been easy to access the remains” that the Civil Guard knew were in a well that was not such but “a probe that is barely forty centimeters in diameter.”
And he recalled that “it has even been necessary to commission a company to make an adequate mechanism to be able to extract these remains from the depths of the well, where there were stones that made work difficult.”
The subdelegate has valued the work of the Civil Guard who “investigates and has a lot of patience until they achieve their objective, which, in this case, was to clarify what happened.”
For his part, the Head of the Civil Guard Command of Ciudad Real, Lieutenant Colonel Juan Antonio Valle, pointed out that throughout the day, as long as the weather conditions allow it, work continues to extract more remains from the well. .
To do this, he has said that a tent has been installed that allows working in the rain, and thus continue removing “everything that remains in the well.”
Valle, on behalf of the Civil Guard, has offered his condolences to the family, who can be “comforted with the discovery of their loved one.”
He also wanted to take the opportunity to thank the company that has helped the Civil Guard and that has collaborated “tirelessly” designing various instruments to get the remains out of the well, in very difficult conditions.
Likewise, he has highlighted the importance of having the experience of different Civil Guard teams that have worked on this case and who had the experience of having worked in Totalán (Málaga) in the search for little Julen who fell into a test pit. .
“Thanks to that experience we have also been able to move faster,” Valle acknowledged.
The search for the body of the missing businessman resumed on May 31 and yesterday he was located on a farm in Manzanares.
Linked to another disappearance
For almost four years, the whereabouts of this 57-year-old businessman were unknown. he had traveled from Vitoria to Manzanares to sell two luxury vehicles in a transaction in which Antonio C., the last person to see him alive, acted as mediator.
The businessman, dedicated to the slot machine business, did not take a flight to Paraguay the day after his disappearance, as planned.
González Borrajo’s family has always suspected that his case is linked to that of Juan Miguel Isla, who disappeared on July 21, 2022 and whose mortal remains were found last March in a well located on a farm owned by Antonio C.
Both he and Gaspar R., who allegedly collaborated in the transport and concealment of Isla’s body, also participated as detainees in the searches that the agents carried out in the framework of the investigation.
Valle has affirmed that Gaspar R. confirmed the last movements of González Borrajo, for which the Civil Guard gave “a lot of truth to what he indicated” in his confession about the whereabouts of the businessman, so that the Armed Institute has “efforts to obtain the proofs of what he was talking about until seeing that what he said was true”.
He has also confirmed to questions from journalists that the main person under investigation, Antonio C, has not spoken at any time during these days in which he has been present in the area where the businessman was being sought.
