Pamplona (EFE).- The Evaluation for University Access (EvAU) has started without incident this Tuesday in Navarra, with concern among the teaching staff for the paralysis of the royal decree that will modify the test next year and the forecast of starting the course without knowing how this exam will be.
This was reported by the coordinator in Navarra of the Evaluation for University Access (EvAU), Ana Zabalza, at a press conference held on the Pamplona campus of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) on the occasion of the start of the ordinary phase of the Evau in Navarra for a total of 3,822 enrolled students, a start that, he has pointed out, is taking place without incident.
“At this moment not much is known, there is a moment of great uncertainty due to the electoral advance,” he stated, assuring that the universities are “very concerned” and considering that “there is no margin” and the students who start 2nd year after the summer de Bachiller and their teachers “will start the course without knowing how the test is going to be”.
the new plan
The plan, he commented, was for the Royal Decree that establishes regulations on evaluation to be issued this June and subsequently the associated regulations such as the Ministerial Order for content and correction guides would be published, but “everything has been paralyzed until the elections are over” because it will be left for the next Council of Ministers.
In reference to the tests that have started today, he has assured that they have started without any incident for the 3,822 Navarrese students enrolled and that they will take the exams between today, tomorrow and Thursday.
The grades, he recalled, will be published on June 14 before 12:00 p.m. and students will be able to consult them through the web or in the enabled app. Through these same channels, revisions may be requested within a period of three business days, which will begin on the 14th and end on Monday the 19th, for the correction to be made on June 21 and the final notes to be released on the 22nd.
Same exam model
The structure of the EvAU, he pointed out, maintains that of recent years because it is the last exam within the current legislative framework of the LOMCE. Thus, he recalled, the exam does not present option A and B, but a series of questions from which students can choose.
In this ordinary call, he has reported, 217 adapted tests have been requested, the majority (124) for ADD or ADHD. 37 adapted tests have also been requested for specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, 12 for special educational needs and another 43 for health-related problems.
These adaptations, he explained, include changes such as extension of time, supervision, special location in the classroom and technological support such as taking the exam with a computer.
Slight upturn in enrollment
The number of students enrolled, he pointed out, presents a slight rise of 114 students after the temporary drop last year and the distribution by sex is maintained with 2,224 women (58%) compared to 1,598 men. The rates by language did not vary either, with 2,847 tests in Spanish and 975 in Basque, 26%.
The upward trend in the number of people who only take the voluntary test continues, representing 12% with 470 students, double the figures registered before the pandemic and which used to be around 6% or 7%. For their part, 96 students have enrolled in the compulsory phase only.
He has not been able to specify the reason for this increase, although he has alluded to different possible reasons such as the increase in cut-off marks that can refer people to Vocational Training or that it is an exam model that presents more peace of mind for students .
In reference to languages, he pointed out that English continues to be the main protagonist, choosing this option 3,495, while French has been chosen by 322 people and German only 30.
