Palma, (EFE).- Ryanair has clarified this Tuesday that it does not and will not charge for the ensaimadas that tourists and residents of Mallorca carry as hand luggage when traveling with the Irish company.
The acting Minister of Tourism of the Balearic Islands, Iago Negueruela, met this Tuesday in Palma with representatives of this airline to clarify this point and work together to defend this typical product.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Association of Bakers and Pastry Chefs of the Balearic Islands, who shared an ensaimada with those present, the star product of Mallorcan confectionery.
Ryanair has clarified during that it has never been charged for carrying ensaimadas on board and has reiterated that the transport conditions have not changed.
Negueruela has praised the predisposition of Ryanair, a company that transports thousands of people to the Balearic Islands every year, and that tourists and residents can take their ensaimadas in the cabin of the plane, always respecting the security and luggage conditions in force.
David Simón, Ryanair’s public policy director, and Gal.la Sierra, from the Department of Public and Legal Affairs, were present on behalf of the airline.
