Madrid, June 6 (EFE).- The Madrid students of the modality of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts have been examined this Tuesday of the first three core subjects in the tests of the Evaluation for University Access (EvAU) -Language and Literature, History of Spain and Foreign Language- and have had to choose between poetry since 1939 or theater prior to 1939 and the crisis of Francoism or the first Carlist war in the reign of Isabel II in the History test.
This second day of the EvAU in the Community of Madrid has been the turn of the students of the social branch, since those of the Science modality inaugurated the tests on Monday with the same core subjects; a day that is taking place without incident and normally, the Complutense University of Madrid has informed Efe.
In the first test, at 9:00 a.m., Language and Literature, students have been able to choose between developing poetry from 1939 to the present day or theater prior to 1939.
In addition, the two texts proposed for analysis have been part of the article ‘El futuro (postponed)’, by Remedios Zafra, in the Digital Magazine, on research and cultural innovation of the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona and a small fragment of the book “Contra Apocalyptic: Ecologism, Animalism, Posthumanism”, by Jesús Zamora Bonilla.
At 12:00 noon there was an exam on the History of Spain, an exam to comment on the Spanish labor movement during the Bourbon Restoration through the painting ‘La Tejedora’ by Joan Planella y Rodríguez or to relate the end of the reign of Alfonso XIII with the electoral results of the provincial capitals in the municipal elections held on April 12, 1931.
Regarding the topics to be developed, the social studies students have been able to choose between the crisis of the Franco regime since 1973 to the death of Franco and the reign of Isabel II (1833-1868): the first Carlist war.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the 7th, and Thursday, the 8th, the students of both modalities will coincide and take the specific tests with the optional subjects such as Mathematics II, Greek II, Performing Arts, History of Philosophy, Technical Drawing II, Geology, Designs or Art History.
And on Friday, the 9th, the exams of coincident subjects or incidents will be done.
This split of exams by modalities was introduced during the years of the covid pandemic to avoid crowds, but it is one of the innovations that have been maintained to ensure the proper development of the tests.
A total of 38,251 students from the region are being examined this week at the six public universities in the Community of Madrid.
The Complutense University hosts the largest number of students in this EvAU with 12,647, while the rest are distributed among the Autonomous University (9,729), Carlos III (5,376), Alcalá (5,058), Rey Juan Carlos (3,978) and the Polytechnic University of Madrid (1,463).
Specifically, with this breakdown by modalities, 6,286 Science students began on Monday and this Tuesday the students of the rest of the modalities are being examined, 5,139 students.
