Logroño, (EFE).- The Official State Gazette (BOE) has published this Tuesday the order by which the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA) approves the modification that the Qualified Designation of Origin (DOCa) Rioja agreed on last September 9 to protect the exclusivity of its registered vineyards.
From now on, the statutes of the Regulatory Council of the DOCa Rioja include, in its article 26, that the production of the registered vineyards must be used exclusively for the production of wine covered by this label.
In this way, the exclusive dedication requirements of the registered wineries are equated with the requirements of the vineyards, by extending the principle of exclusivity to them as well.
This modification is added to the framework of rules and conditions already in force to guarantee the exclusivity of production, processing and storage.
