Vitoria (EFE).- The Michelin Vitoria strike has virtually stopped production, according to the ELA, LAB, CGT and ESK unions.
They are the conveners of the first day of strike in this factory.
The strike has had a 93 percent follow-up on the production lines in the first shift, according to its first calculations.
These four unions from the Michelin plant in Vitoria have called strikes on June 5 (today), 7, 10 and 12.
The first two days in three shifts and the last two in two.
A strike not supported by CCOO or UGT
The strikes are not supported by the CCOO – which chairs the Vitoria committee – nor by the UGT.
This morning, since five in the morning, there has been a concentration of several dozen workers at the factory access turnstiles, when shift A began.
At one o’clock it will be repeated with shift B and at nine o’clock at night for shift C.
In addition, this afternoon at six there will be a demonstration in the center of Vitoria.
This Friday the 10th, a new meeting is scheduled for the inter-centre committee -which brings together all the factories in Spain, except Lasarte’s in Gipuzkoa- to respond to the company’s latest offer.

The salary increases offered by the company are 5% for this year, 3% for 2024, 2% in 2025 and another 2% in 2026.
It includes a clause that would allow another 2% increase every two years if the CPI increased above these increases.
It would be with a cap of 10% in the first two years and 8% in the second two.
Strike organizers reject Michelin offer
The unions calling the strike reject the multinational’s latest proposal by not linking wage increases to the CPI, but to a reference index linked to the company’s results.
In addition to this wage increase linked to the CPI, the convening unions demand a reduction in working hours.
Specifically, they request that the eight hours per year of the “development days” be computed within it.
This way they would not have to be done during workers’ days off.
Another of the discrepancies of ELA, LAB, CGT and ESK with the business proposal is that they demand the suppression of the entry salary of the agreement.
Its objective is that there is no double salary scale in the company.
