Valladolid (EFE).- The hours of study on the weekend prior to the mythical university entrance exams, scheduled in Castilla y León for the next 7, 8 and 9 June, condition the lives of 10,715 students and their families, a number of those enrolled in the EBAU that registers a slight increase of 2.7 percent compared to last year’s figures, when they were 10,429.
According to the data collected by EFE in the four public universities of the Community -Valladolid, Salamanca, León and Burgos-, the number of those enrolled in the Baccalaureate Assessment for University Access (EBAU) has increased in all of them, although The greatest increase is registered in the provinces linked to the Valladolid academic institution, where there are 172 more enrolled than in 2022.

As for the rest of the universities, the increase in the number of those enrolled in the EBAU is less, with 68 more enrolled in the area of the University of Burgos, 43 more in Salamanca and 3 more in León.
To facilitate the process and bring the exams closer to the areas where the applicants have studied, the universities display different venues on their campuses, including facilities of the academic institutions themselves and also institutes where students have spent the last months of training in Baccalaureate.
Despite the nerves, the statistics indicate that these exams are passed by the vast majority of applicants, who have just demonstrated their knowledge in the ordinary Baccalaureate exams, but there is always a minority (between 1 and 2 percent in the years) that, either because of nerves or because they were not fully prepared, fail the test.
However, they will have another opportunity in the extraordinary call for these exams, scheduled for July 5, 6 and 7.

In many cases, the pressure lies in the fact that students are aware of the predictable cut-off grade that they will find in the university studies they want to do, so it is not enough to get a very good grade, but rather they compete with others students to access a place in the chosen specialty.
For a few weeks, the debate around the claim of the Junta de Castilla y León itself for a single EBAU in all of Spain gives way to the design of exams and the concentration to pass this test.
The new EBAU for 2024, paralyzed
In this year, it has just been learned that the future EBAU test, designed in draft by the current Government, is paralyzed with respect to its application in June 2024 after the call for general elections on July 23, as they have assured EFE sources in this department.
With this stoppage, the Executive leaves its application in the hands of the next Government “whether it be the PSOE or the PP”, although the sources have specified that the draft of the royal decree is “completely processed”.
And they have stressed that “the implementation of the new university entrance exam is paralyzed and is not postponed until 2025, as the rectors of Spanish universities had requested.

This is because, according to Education, it cannot be postponed because Lomloe establishes that the new Ebau must be in force in June 2024.
Among the novelties of the new Ebau, it stands out that the duration of each of the exams will become 105 minutes instead of the current 90, because these will include less memory exercises in which the student must reflect and make associations of ideas, and the initially planned academic maturity test is not introduced.
Practical data for those enrolled in the EBAU
The academic institutions have explained that some of the measures deployed to prevent covid infections in previous years continue, such as the call to students outside the buildings and access to the test with a transparent bag where the student will carry their objects. personal and that will have to be left on the table during the exercises.
The call will take place at 8:30 a.m. and the test will begin at 9:00 a.m. and, although this will be complicated, some universities recommend not bringing a mobile phone to the test, as well as watches or other devices that may have a wireless connection, to avoid temptations and distractions.
If applicable, they must be turned off and inside the aforementioned closed plastic bag.
The grades will be published on June 16 at 10:00 a.m., and students will be able to find out their score through the university websites with the username and password indicated on their EBAU registration.
The deadline for the request for review of exams will be June 19 to 21, and the result will be announced on June 27.EFE
