Valencia (EFE).- Les Corts Valencianes emerged from the regional elections on May 28 will have 61% new faces compared to the tenth legislature; there will be more women than men (51 compared to 48) and they will have four parliamentary groups, two less with the disappearance of Ciudadanos and Unides Podem.
The Valencian Parliament of the eleventh legislature will be constituted on June 26 with the inauguration of the 99 parliamentarians and the election of the Chamber’s management body, and will differ from the previous constitutive session in that four years ago the new deputies They accounted for 53% of the total and there were more men than women (53 to 46).
The new majority group: PP
The new Corts will have the PP as the majority group, which has doubled its seats to 40 (there are 21 more), made up of 21 men and 19 women and with a clear majority of parliamentarians sitting in the chamber for the first time: 27 (between them the next president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón), compared to the 13 who repeat in the Valencian Parliament.
The average age of the popular group is 51.6 years, and several party officials will sit on that bench, such as the president of the PPCV, Carlos Mazón; the regional secretary, María José Catalá; the deputy secretary of Organization of the PPCV, Juan Francisco Pérez Llorca; or the provincial presidents of Valencia, Vicente Mompó, and of Castellón, Marta Barrachina.
Most of the popular parliamentarians are graduates, mainly in Law, although there are also some in Political Science or Economics; Many have experience in other Administrations, mainly the local and provincial ones, although there are also senators; and there will be two former Citizens on this bench: Ruth Merino and Julia Parra.
The second group: PSOE
As the second parliamentary group, the PSPV-PSOE, which has won four deputies in these elections and grows to 31, in which 18 deputies and 13 deputies will sit on a bench in which there are also more new parliamentarians than that repeat: 20 to 11.
In this group, which goes from supporting the Consell to being the opposition, will sit the still acting president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, general secretary of the Valencian socialists, as well as the acting councilors appointed by this party (Rebeca Torró, Arcadi Spain, Gabriela Bravo, Miguel Mínguez and Josefina Bueno) and the Secretary of Organization of the PSPV, José Muñoz.
The average age of this group, in the absence of some elected deputies providing their date of birth, is 48 years; it has seven parliamentarians who appeared on its lists as independents; and most are graduates, mainly in Law, although there are also two doctors, two journalists and one of the first local police officers in Alicante.
Commitment, third force
Compromís becomes the third force of Les Corts, with a group now made up of 15 deputies (2 less), of which 8 are women and 7 men; 9 are new incorporations and 6 revalidate the seat; the average age is 42 years, and it has two teachers, three journalists and several law graduates.
The second opposition group will be led by Joan Baldoví, who will be accompanied by the acting vice-president of the Council, Aitana Mas, the acting councilor Isaura Navarro, the former minister Vicent Marzà or the acting vice-president of the Valencia Provincial Council, María Josep Amigó, and where the person who has been the president of Les Corts for two legislatures, Enric Morera, will not be.
Vox, fourth group
The fourth group of Les Corts of the eleventh legislature will be Vox, made up of 13 deputies (3 more), of which 7 are men and 6 women, and it is the only group where repeaters (8) outnumber new recruits (5). , among the latter who was their candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Carlos Flores.
Vox, whose votes added to those of the PP give an absolute majority in the new chamber, will have several doctors or law graduates on its bench and the provincial president of the party in Castellón, Llanos Massó. EFE
