Seville, (EFE).- The labor market in Andalusia maintained its dynamism in May with a reduction in unemployment of 6,521 people (0.9%) to a total of 707,319 and with the creation of 7,875 jobs (0.23%) up to close to 3.4 million members of Social Security (3,394,379).
According to the data provided this Friday by the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, almost half of the drop in unemployment in May was concentrated in services, with 3,137 fewer unemployed, and it also fell sharply in the group without previous employment (- 1932).
Unemployment also fell in the rest of the groups and to a lesser extent in agriculture, with 60 less, while it fell by 726 people in industry and 666 in construction.
Unemployment in Andalusia falls by 6.7% in one year
In one year, unemployment in the Andalusian community has been reduced by 51,138 (-6.7%), slightly above the average reduction in Spain, of 6.2% in the interannual rate, although in a monthly comparison at the national level the The drop was much greater in relative terms (-1.7%) than in Andalusia (0.9%).
By provinces, Málaga, with 3,322 fewer unemployed in May (-2.4%), and Cádiz, with 2,540 fewer (-1.8%), led the declines in Andalusia, where unemployment in Seville rose by 1,047 people (0. 6%) and in Huelva in 660 people (1.7%).
The number of unemployed in Granada was also reduced, by 868; in Jaén, in 512; in Córdoba, with 600, and in Almería, with 386.
In Andalusia, affiliation to Social Security increased by 73,712 people in one year, 2.2%, slightly below the national rise of 2.8%, and in one month the Andalusian increase was 0.23% compared to the 09.7% from Spain. EFE
