Facing the trial that will be held from next Wednesday, Rafael Amargo’s lawyer, Jaime Caballero, has reminded EFE that the artist recently rejected an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, which would mean acknowledging the facts to reduce the sentence of nine years in prison that the Public Ministry requests, because he is innocent and trusts that it will be proven.
“It is not true that he trafficked drugs; being a consumer has nothing to do with selling”, maintains the lawyer, who points out that the artist has been undergoing treatment for his drug addiction for some time, and that it was this problem that made him receive some people at his house, to acquire The substances.
For its part, the Prosecutor’s Office requests nine years in prison for Amargo for “persistently” selling drugs at his home, and the same sentence for the producer Eduardo de Santos, whom he says acted “jointly” with Amargo in the purchase. and subsequent distribution of drugs, as the Public Ministry recalled this Friday.
The Prosecutor’s Office requests six years in prison for his partner
He also requests six years in prison for partner Miguel Ángel BA for being a “trustworthy man” who delivered the drugs to buyers.
The Prosecutor’s Office does not request a penalty for Rafael Amargo’s partner, Luciana Bongianino, whom, on the other hand, the judge in the case does consider, together with the other three defendants, the possible perpetrator of a crime against public health and another belonging to a criminal group .
In the indictment, the prosecutor concludes that Rafael Amargo committed a crime against public health by selling narcotic substances to third parties in a “persistent” manner in exchange for money at his own home, acting “jointly” with the producer Eduardo de Santos and the other partner investigated.
The Prosecutor’s Office recalls that three cans of “Popper” (alkyl nitrites) were intervened in the search of the homes of the defendants and in Amargo’s house, a small bag with phenylethylamine with a net weight of 0.089 grams, and a bottle with six milliliters of “GBL” with a market value of 314.19 euros when sold per gram.
In the case of Eduardo de Santos, the agents seized, among other narcotic substances such as ketamine and “Popper”, a plastic wrapper with 56 grams of methamphetamine with a purity of 76%, with a market value of 1,452.14 euros in its sale by grams, and 5,800 euros in cash and four mobile phones.
