Pamplona (EFE).- The PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra have established their positions and requests this Thursday in what has been the first contact, separately, between the three parties that intend to reissue the Government formula, that brought the socialist María Chivite to the presidency.
The initiative has been taken by the PSN candidate, María Chivite, who has summoned the representatives of Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra at different times. At 9:30 am, Chivite and number 2 arrived at Parliament, Ramón Alzórriz, at the Foral Chamber, which minutes later Uxue Barkos arrived, accompanied by parliamentarians Pablo Azcona and María Solana.
The meeting with Geroa Bai lasted just over an hour and later, at 11:30 a.m., the representatives of Contigo Navarra, Begoña Alfaro, Carlos Guzmán and Iñigo Rudi, arrived for a meeting of three quarters of an hour.
Keys for the negotiation of the Government of Navarra
After the two meetings, the different groups have made their assessments before the media, where they have left some of the keys that will define the negotiation to form the Executive:
-. The three forces have shown their commitment to have a progressive and plural government.
-. Both PSN and Geroa Bai want to preside over Parliament, something that will have to be agreed before June 16, the day the plenary session is constituted.
-. Chivite (PSN) chooses to have more strength within the Executive, since Geroa Bai has lost two parliamentarians.
-. With you Navarra will ask to enter the Government if the programmatic agreement includes its priorities and has made it clear that they do not want to “wait to see what the older brothers decide.”
-. None of the three directly links the negotiation to form a government with that of the city councils, although Geroa Bai criticizes the position of the PSN in Pamplona, where it has already said that it will not vote for the EH Bildu candidate, which would allow an alternative government to that of UPN .
-. For a government supported by these three forces to succeed, it must have at least a simple majority in the Foral Parliament. In the last legislature, that majority came with the abstention of parliamentarians from EH Bildu, a formation that has reached out to negotiate progressive governments “without exclusions.”
-. Chivite has stated that it is not on the socialist agenda to meet with EH Bildu, not even to request his abstention.
The next meeting between PSN and Geroa Bai will be on June 6 and no date has been set with the Contigo Navarra coalition and they will possibly speak by phone.
