Madrid (EFE).- The entry of foreign tourists reached a record figure of 21 million between January and April, 32.4% more than a year earlier, and total spending rose to 25,681 million euros, 36.6 % more than in 2022 and 14.5% above the pre-pandemic figures, in 2019.
According to data published this Thursday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), 7.2 million international tourists arrived in Spain in April, 18.5% more than in the same month of 2022, and spent 8,480 million euros, 22.7% more, which represents a record for that month.
By country, the United Kingdom leads the outbound tourist market with 1.4 million visitors in April, after growing 8.7% since the same month in 2022.
