Pamplona (EFE).- The EH Bildu candidate for the Presidency of Navarra, Laura Aznal, considers that it is “time to speak and agree, not to exclude” and in this sense has asserted that her formation, the third force of the Foral Parliament , “is going to do everything in its power, until the last moment, to reach alternative majorities to the right.”
In the Government of Navarra “a new phase must be opened in which the progressive majorities are definitively consolidated”, in which “the right-wing does not mark time”, stressed Aznal, who stated that “Navarra wants and must have a government progressive” and at EH Bildu they are willing to talk and agree, remarking that “this is not the time for exclusions”.
This was stated at a press conference in which he analyzed the results of the May 28 elections, which he described as “unique” and “historic”.
“Total willingness to talk”
After reviewing the results, which place them in Navarra as “the first municipalist force and the third in Parliament”, with nine seats, two more than the previous legislature, he stressed that “EH Bildu will continue to be decisive, even more decisive” .
As a “logical and normal” step, he has considered that the first contact to try to form a government of the socialist candidate is with those who have been his partners this legislature (Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra), while he has assured that EH Bildu has a “Total willingness to talk and reach agreements.”
“We have been reaching agreements for many years and when we agreed, the citizenry has won,” he remarked, pointing out that a repetition of the elections “would not be the desirable scenario in any case.”
Questioned about whether what happens in the Pamplona City Council could have repercussions on the negotiations with the Government of Navarra, she has insisted, on the possibility that the PSN does not support the candidacy of EH Bildu, that “whoever intends to leave the right in the hands of the The Iruña City Council government will have to give the pertinent explanations to the public, who would not understand it”.
Regarding the general elections of July 23, he commented that in EH Bildu they are “prepared, very well positioned”, they are ready to continue working to face “one more challenge but with all the tranquility and calm” that the results give them obtained.
