Santa Cruz de Tenerife (EFE).- The president of the PP of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, has denied this Thursday that his party is willing to “exchange cards” in town halls and councils in talks with CC to form the next regional government .
Domínguez has indicated after the celebration of the autonomous board of directors of the PP that the negotiations with CC will not be “a barter”.
Asked about the express request of the leader of the PP of Tenerife, Emilio Navarro, to preside over the Tenerife Cabildo, Domínguez has indicated that he “has the possibility of negotiating, and is doing so, with the different formations with which the numbers can give us ”.
“If we talk about one town council or another, it depends on who we can talk to about the formation of governments”, Domínguez has raised, adding that “in Tenerife it is where perhaps in more town halls there is the possibility of the PP forming governments with one or two different formations because the citizens decided so”.
It has abounded in that “we are talking with CC about those municipalities in which it is possible” to reach a government agreement.
But cases like that of Tacoronte “come to mind”, where Nueva Canarias “is also a fundamental element”, or that of Granadilla, where “where two formations it is difficult for them to reach an agreement, and there has to be a third ”.
In this specific case, that third force, apart from PP and CC, is Vox, although the sum of popular and nationalists would exceed the PSOE in councillors.
As Domínguez has stressed, it is about “analyzing municipality by municipality”, as well as “the relations between people”, and “later the councils… but it is not an exchange of if you give me this, I will give you the other” , he has insisted.
The leader of the Canarian PP recalled that in the campaign he hinted at what the priority partners could be to form governments, and that the only “red lines” would not be imposed “by party colors”, except for Podemos, but Sunday’s results have cleared that unknown
He has focused on the programmatic line to reach consensus and has stressed that the agreement will not be possible with those formations against lowering taxes and extending free nursery schools from 0 to 3 years old or those who consider that the current model Sanitary “is good and does not need a major change”.
Regarding the deadlines, Domínguez has indicated that despite the fact that it is necessary to stick to those defined by law for the constitution of city councils, councils and Parliamentary Bureau, he has slipped that “the sooner we can focus attention on the preparation of the general elections, better.
In any case, he has indicated that “things have to be done well. You don’t have to be in a hurry.”
Regarding the general elections, whose call for July 23 supposes “one more irresponsible action” by President Pedro Sánchez, he has reported that the regional PP has already set up the campaign committee, which will be led by Carlos Ester, Luz Reverón and José Estalella . EFE
