Pamplona (EFE) “Third ways that exclude the place that the polls have given to EH Bildu only lead to governments of the right.”
Asiron has appeared at a press conference after the statements by the socialist candidate, Elma Saiz, about the option for EH Bildu to support a government of PSN, Geroa Bai and Contigo Navarra, and has explained that “third ways are not and will not be above of the table”, in addition to assuring that this will be his position “until the last minute”.
The Abertzale candidate has reported that contacts have already begun to achieve the formation of a progressive municipal government. “Pamplona is going to have the most progressive corporation in its history, no one would understand giving up the government to the right. If someone falls into temptation, they will have to look the public in the eye and explain to them why what is good for other institutions is not good for Pamplona. I don’t think even the bases of the party believe it, ”he declared.
Asiron has highlighted that during the last four years EH Bildu, Geroa Bai and PSN have shown, from the opposition, that agreements can be reached and act generously, since “95% of the declarations have been approved by the unit through three”.
“It makes no sense to exclude 27% of the population of Pamplona”
The former mayor did not want to clarify what will happen in the Government of Navarra if the PSN does not support him to be mayor, but he explained that “it does not make sense to exclude 27% of the population of Pamplona, who have voted for EH Bildu”.
Asiron has proposed a “minimum program” in which all the progressive parties agree to form a government and has pointed out that “Pamplona is a plural city” and that it will open the doors of government to all the sensibilities of the progressive parties” .
Of the 16 councilors who call themselves “progressive”, 8 are from EH Bildu, and Asiron have recalled that the Abertzale formation has been the “only” one that has grown in the elections, and that it has done so for the third consecutive time and with greater abstention. He has also stressed that there is an “abysmal difference” with respect to the second progressive force, which would be the PSN.
“Just as we understand that it is up to the PSN to lead the negotiations and the Government in Navarra, it is up to EH Bildu in Pamplona”, he said. And he has repeated that “agreeing on the conditions for a progressive government in Iruña is possible because Pamplona has said that it does not want the right to govern.”
