Logroño, (EFE) of his party, Pedro Sánchez, which will take place “shortly”.
This has been pronounced in an informative conference, after the meeting held this Tuesday by the PSOE of La Rioja to analyze the electoral results of May 28, which caused the regional government and the Logroño City Council to lose when the PP won in both with absolute majority.
Andreu, who was running to be re-elected president of the Government of La Rioja, has stressed that she is available to her party “in a coherent and responsible manner” and that she has “nothing decided” on whether or not she will take the act of regional deputy or will be a candidate in the general elections.
He has stressed that “deadlines must be respected”, but he has said that his meeting with Pedro Sánchez will be one of the “determining” factors in the decision he adopts.
“I am loyal to Sánchez, I cannot, I should not and I do not think I am not because of what he has done for La Rioja”, specified Andreu, who is at the disposal of the Riojan PSOE, of which he will continue to be its general secretary to “win” the general elections.
In his recent telephone conversation with Sánchez after losing the elections, Andreu reiterated that “La Rioja has never done better than with a PSOE government (in Spain)” and that he will work in the same way and with intensity before the elections of 23 of July.
Andreu has recognized and assumed in first person the electoral “defeat” of the PSOE in La Rioja and has admitted that there have been “failures” in the communication of his Government when it comes to explaining to the citizens the policies developed in this legislature.
He also believes that in the elections of May 28, there has been a national vote and that there has been a vote of “punishment” for the PSOE.
One of the reasons for this situation, from his point of view, is that the national media focus has not been focused on regional and local issues during the electoral campaign, but on national issues, such as the law of only yes or it is yes. and the “muddling” with the Bildu lists.
He understands that the PSOE must make its self-criticism in the way the campaign has been focused and, in addition, “the coalition government (PSOE-Podemos) has taken its toll on us” in La Rioja on May 28, he stated.
