Logroño, (EFE).- Agents of the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard have intervened in a house in Muro en Cameros where there were 14 abandoned dogs that were in “terrible” hygienic conditions -sanitary.
In a note, the Civil Guard has detailed that the dogs, of different breeds, ages and sizes, lacked a microchip and had not been inoculated with the mandatory rabies vaccine in La Rioja.
The action began after the alert issued by a citizen to report the overcrowding and the state of abandonment of numerous dogs inside a home.
These animals were not cared for in optimal conditions by their owner, as he lacked the necessary material and financial resources.
The Seprona agents who went to the place verified that the dogs were locked in cubicles, without ventilation, between feces and urine, without food or water.
The facts were brought to the attention of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Territory and Population of the Government of La Rioja, which confirmed the seizure of the animals to save their integrity and health, for which they were transferred to dependencies of the Association for the Protection of Animals Rioja for their veterinary care and treatment.
The corresponding record/complaint for infringement of Law 6/2018, on the protection of animals in La Rioja, has been processed against the owner of the animals.
