Valencia, May 30 (EFE) and, on whether he rules out going on the electoral lists for Congress, he has assured that his “commitment” is in the Valencian Community.
This was stated at the press conference after the meeting of the National Executive Commission of the PSPV-PSOE, which was held at the party headquarters, in which he was shown, he said, “great confidence” that has opted for “correspondence”.
Lead the future alternative for the Community
“I have accepted the mandate that the citizens have given regarding my position and that of my party in these elections,” said Puig, who appeared accompanied by the party’s deputy general secretary, Ana Domínguez, and the organization secretary, José Muñoz .
In his opinion, “the public has said who has to be the government and who has to be the opposition” and has been convinced that “for a country to function well, there must be a good government but also a good opposition” .
“From today I am going to lead the alternative for the future for the Valencian Community”, he indicated, and explained that he will do so because the policies of the Council that he has led had social “acceptance”.
A purposeful opposition
Puig has said that he accepts “for responsibility with Valencian society and for responsibility with the party” and has considered “demandable” that everyone do their best for the Community to advance.
For this reason, he has assured that his opposition will be “propositive, constructive, resounding and decisive” to “cut off the ravings that may occur”, a style that “has nothing to do with the opposition of the PP during this legislature and during the campaign” .
The best result since 2007
Regarding the evaluation of the electoral results, he highlighted the “confidence” of almost 700,000 people in the PSPV-PSOE, which has obtained “the best result since 2007” although he has assured that this “does not mean that we are satisfied at all ”.
“It can be seen that this is the community in which the PSOE has grown the most and we want to consolidate this position, also speaking clearly in Spain, because the future happens because the Community has more weight in Spain and more decision-making capacity”, he indicated. .
Asks the right-wing parties “not to get dizzy”
He has lamented the “anomaly” that the public “thinks that the government has managed very well, it had a preference for who should be the president, but they voted differently.”
Asked if he would abstain from the investiture of the PP candidate, Carlos Mazón, so that he would not govern with Vox, he affirmed that the public knows “that things are about the PP and Vox” for what he has asked of the right-wing parties ” don’t make them dizzy”, because “everyone knew what was going to happen”.
“We will do what corresponds to us, be a loyal and constructive opposition”, he has stated and, regarding whether he plans to join the socialist list for the general elections, he has said that his “commitment” is in the Valencian Community.
He will continue if he has the support of his party
Asked if he will leave the leadership of the opposition after the July elections, he has indicated that his will is to “follow the mandate of the citizenry” and that if he has the support of his party he will continue “with self-demand”.
Regarding the electoral advance, he considered it “a correct and deeply democratic decision” and concluded that “now it is time to talk about Spain.”
Regarding whether he will be the candidate for the next elections, he said that “time will tell” and when asked if he will be the spokesperson in Les Corts, he stated that “we are not going to decide everything today either”.
