Logroño, (EFE).- The Zone Electoral Board will review next Friday, June 2, the tie to 371 votes achieved by PSOE and PP after the scrutiny carried out this Sunday in the municipality of San Asensio.
As sources from the Electoral Board have informed EFE, after this recount it will be decided whether a draw will be held, which will determine the councilor who will grant the Mayor’s Office to one party or another.
Both PSOE and PP achieved 48.81 percent of the votes cast in San Asensio, while the Partido Riojano+España Vaciada coalition achieved 1.18 percent, with 9 votes.
With 9 councilors in the San Asensio City Council, the draw will decide whether PSOE or PP get five councilors or stay at four; so that the mayor could repeat the socialist Juan Francisco Blanco or take over from the popular Jesús Francisco Rojas.
