Toledo (EFE).- After the municipal elections of May 28, new majorities are also formed in the Castilla-La Mancha councils that, on occasions, can give new provincial governments that were all socialist after the 2019 elections.
PP and PSOE tie in the Toledo Provincial Council, where a representative of Vox enters
The Socialist Party (PSOE) and the Popular Party (PP) have tied thirteen deputies in the Provincial Council of Toledo, an institution that the PSOE has governed for the last two terms, since 2015, with Álvaro Gutiérrez at the helm.
Socialist sources have informed that, in the absence of the official count, the PSOE and the PP have foreseeably obtained thirteen deputies each; and Vox, a single deputy.
However, these same sources indicate that this result is not yet closed and open the door for the PSOE to rise to fourteen deputies at the expense of the PP, which would remain at twelve, thus revalidating the presidency of the deputation.
The PP and Vox will be able to govern the Diputación de Ciudad Real if they agree
A pact between the PP and Vox could also lead to a change of government in the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, an institution that the PSOE has governed without interruption since 1999, after the Socialists have obtained twelve provincial deputies, for the eleven that the PP and both from Vox.
The results in the municipal elections have resulted in a significant electoral turnaround with respect to the 2015 elections, in which the PSOE won fourteen provincial deputies compared to the thirteen that the PP got.
The electoral results of this May 28 have left the PSOE as the force with the most votes in the province of Ciudad Real with 41.73 percent of the votes in the municipalities of the province, while the PP has achieved 39.5 % of the votes, Vox 9%, United-We Can-Izquierda Unida 3.03% and Ciudadanos has not reached 1%.
Absolute majority for the PSOE in the Provincial Council of Guadalajara
The PSOE would win the Provincial Council in the province of Guadalajara by an absolute majority after the elections held this Sunday, May 28.
According to official data, the PSOE would obtain 14 deputies, followed by the PP with 9 and Vox with two.
Some data that, despite the national trend that gives victory to the PP, reflect that the PSOE increases its majority in the Provincial Institution from 13 to 14 while the PP would lose one deputy and Vox would win one compared to 2019, while they would lose its representation both Ciudadanos and Unidas Podemos.
The PSOE will continue with an absolute majority in the Diputación de Cuenca
The PSOE maintains the absolute majority in the Cuenca Provincial Council by obtaining thirteen deputies in the elections this Sunday, May 28.
This has been highlighted by the general secretary of the Cuenca socialists, Luis Carlos Sahuquillo, who assured that from the PSOE they are “completely satisfied with the results.”
“Citizens have decided what they wanted,” Sahuquillo said in statements to the media.
The Albacete Provincial Council, also with a socialist majority
The president of the PSOE of the province of Albacete, Santiago Cabañero, has also indicated that his party will remain in charge of the Diputación de Albacete, and that they will be able to govern in a majority.
