Logroño, (EFE).- The main candidates for the Presidency of the Government of La Rioja have asked citizens to go to the polls because of the importance of this event for the future of the community.
Thus, the president of the Government of La Rioja and candidate for re-election, the socialist Concha Andreu, has appealed this Sunday to the La Rioja electorate to exercise their right to vote to “secure the future” of the entire community, which has made these statements after depositing her vote accompanied by her husband, her two children and her mother.
He has expressed his wish that the election day pass with “tranquility and full of illusion to ensure the future for all of La Rioja”.
In each vote “we risk the future of this region”, that of the new generations and “the reinforcement of our identity as Rioja”, said Andreu, who has insisted on his call for participation.
On a personal level, she has specified that she is “absolutely confident, joyful and happy” of the affection that the people of La Rioja have transmitted to her during this campaign.
The PP candidate for the Presidency of the Government of La Rioja, Gonzalo Capellán, has also referred to the future. He has appealed this Sunday to the La Rioja electorate to participate, “massively” in the polls and, “freely”, between ” all possible (political) alternatives”, so that, together, “we can build a better future for this community, which is what is important”.
This has been indicated after casting his vote at the Las Gaunas sports center in Logroño, where he has gone accompanied by his wife and number 2 of the regional candidacy, Marta Fernández Cornago.
Capellán has said that exercising the right to vote is what “all citizens have in a democratic society to, every four years, decide our future and our representatives” in the institutions, for which reason he has influenced his call for participation ” massive and free” in this day of municipal and regional elections.
Personally, Capellán said that he was entrusted with leading the PP’s candidacy for the Presidency of La Rioja seven months ago, and his current feeling is one of “thankfulness to hundreds of people who support me and who have helped me build this project that we have offered to the people of La Rioja”.
