Logroño, (EFE).- The Minister of Education, Pilar Alegría, has called for “a massive vote” on Sunday, in the regional and local elections, “against those who want us to stay at home”, she said, alluding to to the Popular Party “because in the PP they know the value of each vote.”
Alegría has made these statements at the closing ceremony of the PSOE La Rioja campaign, in which she has been accompanied by the candidates to revalidate the Presidency of the regional government, Concha Andreu, and the Logroño City Council, Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza.
In front of two hundred militants and socialist sympathizers, Alegría, the PSOE’s national spokesperson, has called for the vote “of young people, women, workers and ordinary people” to whom he has asked “to go vote en masse ” because “there are those who want us not to go out, to stay at home”.
“The PP knows the power of votes, because with each one you can decide that a person wants a quality education, quality healthcare, to continue growing, to continue improving”, stressed the minister.
He asked attendees to “take charge” of “the frustration of the PP” which “has spent four years calling for economic catastrophism, which has not come” and “it has been four years of sticks in the wheel, of negativity and just voting no to social advances.”
Thus, he has criticized the PP’s negative vote on the labor reform, the increase in the minimum wage, the Vocational Training law, the ‘Iberian solution’ for the price of energy, the transport bonus or the increase in scholarships, has secured.
To all of this “has said no” (the PP) “and it will be the Spaniards, the people of La Rioja and the people of Logroño who say no to them”, the ones who “say no to the policy of returning to the past” because “here we are the that we want Logroño, La Rioja and Spain to advance”.
“WE MADE IT”
Concha Andreu Andreu has stressed that “four years ago the people of La Rioja voted by a majority for there to be a change, so that everyone would be governed equally” and “we can already say that we have complied”.
“We said that we were going to reindustrialise La Rioja and we have done it, with work, with a lot of work”, stressed the candidate for re-election, who also referred to the arrival of companies in Rioja’s industrial estates and the decrease in unemployment compared to to 2019.
“And we have only just begun, because the legislature has been complex”, affirmed Andreu, for whom “now we are at a key moment, when thinking about the vote and each one is important”.
The candidate for re-election for Mayor of Logroño, Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza, has also asked for the support of those who want a better city to live in and who know that “when there is a socialist government, social justice is at the center of policies ”.
