Santa Cruz de Tenerife (EFE).- The coach of CD Tenerife, Luis Miguel Ramis, has hinted that his replacement on the island bench could be Asier Garitano, although it is not yet official, when he was asked this Wednesday what advice would give the future head coach of the blue and white team.
The Catalan trainer has referred to the information published by the local press and has said that “if it is Asier (Garitano), he has enough experience not to give him advice, but the message from the people towards him is going to be good and The advice is that you try to soak up the illusion and passion that is here quickly, you will feel it quickly as soon as you set foot on the island, when you play in the Heliodoro; Everything that surrounds the club, his fans, mainly his, will be very much to blame for him quickly feeling the responsibility that he has when he arrives ”.
Tenerife’s intention is to announce Asier Garitano as the team’s new coach once the team ends the season this Friday against Real Zaragoza, on the last day of LaLiga SmartBank.
This game at La Romareda will be the last for Ramis on the Tenerife bench, and the coach from Tarragona remains firm in his position of taking these last matches with the utmost “seriousness” to try to climb a position in the standings, as it would result in the economic aspect of the club for the next season.
For this reason, he has suggested that not many changes are foreseen in the line-up, except for those required by Iván Romero, injured, and Aitor Sanz, sanctioned.
Ramis has said that after the clash in the Ebro capital his only intention is to reunite with his family, and has assured that he has not yet committed to any club for next season.
In this sense, when asked which Tenerife footballer he would take -if he could- to his new destination, he replied that “ten players, but it won’t be possible”, and mainly one of them “who has just renewed”. referring to captain Aitor Sanz, “but not only as a player, I would take him home”.
Ramis believes that Tenerife will maintain a block that “must aspire to be among the top six” in future campaigns, as he sees it as “capable” of fighting for promotion.
“I am left with the feeling of happiness in these three years. My helpers and their families have also been happy, and that is very important to me. That day to day has always been special. The peace and tranquility here helps a lot to work”, he expressed in his penultimate press conference, before the game in Zaragoza, where he will conclude his two and a half year period with the blue and white team.
