Madrid (EFE) next.
The Ministries of Justice and of Finance and Public Function have thus closed an agreement with six of the seven professional associations, since the majority Professional Association of the Magistracy (APM) decided not to be part of the agreement considering it “insufficient, unworthy and unacceptable”. , although the entire judicial and prosecutorial career will benefit from the agreed improvements.
Nor are most of the signatory organizations satisfied with the treatment reached, which is not what they would have “desired”, the president of the Association of Prosecutors (AF), Cristina Dexeus, told the media after leaving the act of the signing, which he described as “formal, but not cold” and in which the Secretaries of State for Justice, Tontxu Rodríguez, and for Public Function, Lidia Sánchez Milán, participated.

For the spokesman for the Professional and Independent Association of Prosecutors (APIF), Salvador Viada, the final agreement is “the most that could be achieved”, although he considers that if “it had been unanimous (…), it would have been better.” “We have to claim all the same and all together. It is a lesson for future negotiations”, he said in reference to the absence of the APM.
“Unity is what makes us all stronger”, has considered, for his part, Dexeus.
The pact is a “progress”
However, both spokesmen have indicated that the pact is a “progress” and that it allows “to continue resolving issues that affect the administration of Justice and professional careers.”
To this end, permanent working groups and an agreement monitoring commission will be set up, in which the signatory associations will participate and which will resolve any doubts arising from the application of the pact, the Ministry reported in a note.
In addition, the compensation table will go from having to meet every five years to doing so annually.
The agreement includes a package of 46.7 million euros to improve the salaries of judges and prosecutors and an increase of 200 places in both careers between 2023 and 2024, which will be added to the 400 already approved for that period.
Legal operators will receive the total increase in July 2024, after two partial increases, one before October and retroactively from January, and another in January 2024.
The document, to which EFE has had access, stipulates that in the next five years the remuneration of guards, variable remuneration, trienniums, professional career, population groups and other supplements for special circumstances must be addressed.
The General Council of the Judiciary does not attend the signing of the agreement
The General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), despite also being part of the remuneration table, has not attended the signing of the agreement, as it alleges that it has not been called “effectively” although it has received an email reminding the act.

For this reason and because it considers it “useless” to assess the pact once signed, the governing body of the judges has reported that it will not finally hold the extraordinary plenary session scheduled to study the agreement of the remuneration table on Wednesday.
While the signing was taking place, around a dozen officials from courts and tribunals went to the door of the Ministry to protest to demand that negotiations with them be resumed during their second day of indefinite strike.
The officials have been on strike and mobilization for more than a month, and the last meeting they held was on April 24. “And now that? When will you summon us?”, the protesters have shouted in front of the Ministry of Justice, alluding to the minister, Pilar Llop.
This Wednesday a general strike is also called to demand “dignified working conditions” for the personnel of the administration of Justice of the autonomous communities that have not transferred powers in this matter: Murcia, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla and León, Balearic Islands, Ceuta and Melilla.
