A Coruña, May 21 (EFE).- The National Police have arrested three men for the fight that ended this Sunday with a gunshot wound in critical condition in Ribeira (A Coruña), sources in the case inform EFE.
Hours later, the bullet that had remained lodged in the abdomen of the man wounded in the shooting was extracted in a surgical intervention carried out while the National Police cleared up the case in just a few hours and made three arrests.
This Sunday night there was a conflict between two groups -formed by men of Dominican nationality, others of Maghreb origin and a Spanish woman- that ended with a 27-year-old Maghreb wounded by a gunshot.
The fight took place around 3:00 am, first in the Malecón de Ribeira area and ended on Diego Delicado street, where there are still traces of blood.
There, at 3:19 in the morning, two shots were fired and one of them hit the victim in the abdomen, but she was also stabbed, sources from the investigation told EFE.
The injured man was transferred to the O Barbanza hospital by 061 in critical condition and later underwent surgery.
In the operating room, health professionals removed a bullet that had remained lodged in the abdomen, although it remains in serious condition.
The National Police immediately began the investigation and, before dawn, had already identified the alleged perpetrators of the shots and stab wounds.
A quick action made it possible to locate them along with a third man in Tui (Pontevedra), where they were arrested just a few hours after the events.
Two of the detainees are being investigated for the alleged commission of the assault, an attempted homicide, while the third is charged with an alleged crime of concealment.
The National Police, however, continues the investigation and does not rule out further actions in this regard.
The case is an isolated situation in a municipality like Ribeira, which shows crime data below the average for the State as a whole and even decreased, according to the latest figures for 2022, by -2.9% in known criminal offenses.
